At just 23% of the way towards our 30,000-acre goal, they are already the largest new native broadleaf woodland in England.

A FOREST FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.
The planet is changing rapidly, and climate adaptation is more important than ever. They are creating a Forest not just for the planet we have now, but the planet of the future, by planting a variety of up to 30 native species to create a climate change resilient woodland.
The Forest is more than just trees; it is home to an incredible array of habitats, including new tree planting, mature and ancient woodland, grassland, heathland, farmland, and wetland, which enable animals, plants, and people to thrive. More than a new woodland for the region, the Heart of England Forest is already an incredible national asset for the country.
Not only is the UK one of the least forested European countries, with a total coverage of 13%, just 7% of the UK’s native woodland is in good condition.*

A FOREST FOR WILDLIFE.
Wildlife is a vital part of our natural world and a healthy ecosystem. The mosaic of habitats they are creating in the Forest is helping boost diversity for plants and animals.
They follow nature’s guidelines when choosing which habitats to create on which sites and continuously survey different areas for wildlife. Wherever they find thriving species, they enhance these areas to ensure each species has the chance to flourish.
By creating a connected Forest with green corridors and collaborating closely with partner organisations and the Local Biodiversity Action Plans, they are maximising biodiverse interconnected habitats that support the UK’s native animal and plant life.
Almost 1,500 (1in 6) UK native species of plants and animals are threatened with extinction.

A FOREST FOR PEOPLE.
The Forest is here for generations to come, so it's vital we inspire people to care for it. They engage all ages through education, events, and access to nature, helping build future Forest guardians.
Their inclusive trail and miles of paths make it easier for everyone to connect with nature and enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits. They work with schools to deliver curriculum-linked programmes and host year-round events—from walks to workshops—so all can explore, learn, and grow in the Forest.
The UK has been ranked the lowest of 14 European countries for ‘nature connectedness’ and wellbeing.*

YOU CAN HELP GROW AND PROTECT OUR FOREST.
The significance and scale of our work cannot be underestimated: the Heart of England Forest will be one of the largest native forests in the country.
Establishing and growing the Forest on land that we have purchased will ensure it is safe and protected, benefitting both our health and that of the natural world for hundreds of years to come.
We rely on the generosity of people like you and businesses like Mercedes-Benz World to help fund our work.
We are hugely grateful to Mercedes-Benz World for supporting us since 2019. Thanks to your commitment, we have made remarkable strides in enhancing the Forest. Each tree planted and habitat restored brings us closer to a healthier ecosystem and a more sustainable future.
Our partnership with Mercedes-Benz World is hugely valuable to us and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with you in the future.
